Sinking Back In

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Nov 2, 2005

In an attempt to drown the memories, I blast music.
Through the speakers, Story Of The Year plays.
"place your needle to the record, stab it down
it feels good to be the one to break the skin
[...]
you're face down, tell yourself you're happy once again
right now you need this more than anything
but it's never enough, it's never enough for you"

Listening to the music, the memories come back.
Just when I thought they had faded, they revive.
Old temptations seem like the solution once again.
Sinking deeper into the memories, scared.

Just when I thought I was ok, I sink back in.
Memories race through my head, horrid nightmares.
Blasting the music in a desperate attempt
To distance what I tried so hard to forget.
