Auto Crutch

Son, you need to grow up.
You need to be independent.
You got to learn
to take care of yourself.
I won't always be here for you.

Son, learn to be a man.
Let me share my poetry with you.
Stand without slouching
and don't lean.
You're just like your mother.

Friend, go outside
and breathe fresh air.
Enjoy the beauty
of trees and nature.
Be a real man.

Guardian, be a friend
but take care of you, too.
You got to meet people
just like I do.
Be real and honest.

Let go.
But who will catch me.
Jeez, what a fast grip.
I didn't see you.
I know.
