Frozen Moments

by David Paul   Nov 18, 2005

You took a piece of my heart and I don't want it back,
Keep it always just like I will keep yours,
Treasure it forever as, what you called, a frozen moment,
And don't try to forget but instead cherish.

How could something so simple,
Fall apart and reveal something so complicated,
Like a mathematical riddle with no answer,
Only many attempts to solve but no results.

We opened ourselves up to each other and as a result,
The world, overcome with jealousy, tore us apart,
No one accepted us fully as the one we had become,
But that didn't change the fact that love was there.

So let go of the past and store it deep down inside,
Let these frozen moments become loving memories,
Or maybe even hopes for the future,
And don't dwell on what we could've had,
But what we did have and still do.
