Her Last Words

by VioletRaven   Nov 30, 2005

This time she didn't leave a note,
She didn't say goodbye,
She didn't let them know.
She thanked her friend for all she'd done,
Walked down the hall and didn't look back.
On the street she wondered if they could see,
The feeling inside, the dark trying to take over,
She saw possibilities play before her eyes,
Ways to save herself, versus ways to die,
17, the perfect age to die,
Immortal, forever young,
She plays her life in her mind,
Every mistake, every wrong word,
Her soul drenched with every tear,
Friends who left, who never cared,
Family, she wants them to know it was not their fault,
Her tears soak into the paper as she writes,
This morning she shouted at her reflection,
Get a grip!
She even hates herself,
She has lost her hold now,
She looks around, so many people,
Do they see her? Would they save her?
No.
The people walk past, life goes on,
After she has passed if will continue,
She regrets now, that she didn't say goodbye,
She said it once before, but that day she survived,
If she says goodbye again she knows what pretty words would be given,
Don't cry, don't cut, don't die,
For me.
No more, never shall she say more pretty words,
Never cause more pain,
She will become a faint, forgotten memory,
She is sorry to be the first to leave,
She wants her friend to know she cares,
Wants her to hang on, be strong, as she cannot,
The journey nears its end,
The pencil is so hard to hold,
Hearts heavy words flow beneath her fingers,
She cannot remember the smile; expression is beyond her,
She has failed.
She was not strong.
She tried to find help but it was already to late,
***** I'm sorry, thank you for listening to me,
******* You know what to do, and Hold On.
**** You helped too, more than you know, please keep helping others.
She finds herself crying now,
Hot tears she did not know she had,
My family; this is the hardest,
I'm sorry and it was never your fault,
I love you,
I'm sorry I didn't tell you,
I'm sorry I was like this,
I'm sorry for how this will cost you,
Stick together, because alone we fall.
To my dusty knight, you will find the princess you deserve,
To my friends, do not be sad,
To the world...Peace.

*I had to edit out some names, and take out some parts because it would have been too long if I mentioned everyone. There are slight changes from the original which was written on the 29th Nov. 2005. It's all true*

Hey hun... you are an amazing writer. There are very very few poems that have ever touched me the way this poem has. I'm very sorry for all of your pain, but if you need someone to talk to, about anything... I'm here. I'm not just saying that either. Feel free to talk anytime. Keep writing poems, for you're very talented
