Read my face

by Fig   Dec 11, 2005

Come, let me show you who I am
These lies I tell
Within these veiled eyes
Let me guide those fingertips of yours
Across my face
This broken chin
This jaw that clenched so hard
It cracked in two
With hideous fury

This bottom lip
Bleeds, bitten through
From fear
Cold fears paralysis
Top lip, all melted, gone
Washed away with rainy tears
Dripping over its cliff edge
Erosion from emotion
That's me all over

This nose, split-cracked
From my madness rocking
Pitching swing with scream
Cradling my poor head
In that twisting insane darkness

These empty eyes
All scratched away
From blinking back the ice
Its happy freeze
Ice spider shards
Of concealment

And finally
Those valleys of my creased up skin
Folds by eyes show midnight skies
But in the corners of my mouth
Deaths smoke-screen of suppression
So different

Come, let me show you who I am
These lies I tell
Within these veiled eyes
Let me guide those fingertips of yours
Across my face

For you made this masterpiece
You broke my face
My fragmented facade
Now let me read it back to you
