The Young and The Wise

This is kind of a stupid poem created from the dank depth of a bored imagination so enjoy it or dont, your choice

The Young and the Wise

Young Boy: What is a friend? What is a foe?
And how are we supposed to know?
And if we know how is it so?

Wise Man: A friend is this and nothing more,
The one who gives his kindest lore,
The one who hears with nimble ears,
And he who tends to falling tears,
And in your heart is where you know
What is a friend and what is a foe.

Young Boy: But in my heart there lays no tongue
And wisdom seems to hate the young
So how I know when friends are sprung?

Wise Man: To speak with heart heeds not a tongue,
Nor does it head to hate the young,
It's what we do and what we feel,
That lets us know what all is real,
So do not ask me who's a friend, For in you heart it will descend,
The truth of who's a friend or foe,
For in your heart is where you'll know.

Young Boy: So wisest man, I think I know,
What is a friend, what is a foe?
For in my heart I felt it so,
You see a friend would hear you out,
And never think to hate and shout,
And if you need to have a laugh
It's a friend, who uses all there craft,
And most of all, they are just this,
They are the ones you'll always miss
And those who make you who you are,
And always do much more than par,

Wise Man: Exactly that, and exactly more,
There exactly what's worth living for,
Young Boy: and i thank you, oh wisest man,
so please, i hope to shake your hand
For in my heart, i can't pretend,
and i feel it now, that you're my friend

Wise man: I hope i am, for you are mine,
And i will say this final line,

"Friends are forever, foes are forgettable, so never forget your friends"
