Sand Castle

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Dec 28, 2005

Sitting in the sand, a little girl builds her fort.
Piles of sand create her masterpiece, a sand castle.
Sprinkled with water, she believes in its strength.
She believes it protects her from others, her shield.

Watching her shielding masterpiece, she smiles.
No one is to get through these walls, she believes.
No one is to destroy her barrier, her fence.
No one is to enter her world, restricted.

As she admires her sand castle, she fails to notice
The little boy that is running towards her.
His eyes glued to a flying ball, he runs into the castle.
The walls crumble as his feet destroy her shield.

She stares at him in disbelief, her masterpiece demolished.
The truth she believed for so long falls to pieces.
Never did she think that her barrier would fall to the ground.
Never would she of thought that she would be exposed.
Stripped from her shield.
