Posing With Wide Stares

by Jenni   Jan 8, 2006

Oh red rose with all your thorns...
How can you look so pretty?

You look so soft to touch
but you're not
You're rough, hard, and cold
Oh red rose with all your
thorns

You try to show love
You try so hard to look
so pretty
but you're still so cold to touch
so you
Break Apart
from the outside in.

You're so pretty red rose
Until you turn black as
night

Then all your pretty petals fall off
and do you know what's left of you now?
Nothing but the cold
THORNS

Oh red rose with all your thorns,
how does it feel to be an illusion of love?
How does it feel to be so ugly when you tried to look
so pretty
I can tell you, rose...

It feels like you're empty
it feels like you're worthless
it feels like you're lying in your own grave,
but you're still
ALIVE

How do you feel now
oh red rose with all your thorns...
Do you feel pretty now?

Yeah i agree with what a few others have said, about the rose reminding them of a person/friend who betrayed you, Your style of poem was very unique, unlike any i've read on here, it was amazing.

Jeez, I really loved this one too. As I read it I didn't even think of an actual rose but, more of a person. Great metaphor. So well written. 5/5

I love your imagery with the red rose and the metaphor for what else or who else it might be. Great job 5/5!
