My Future

by EmptyEyes   Jan 9, 2006

The world around you changes to fast
You strain to hold on
You failed on all your tries.
The loved ones you thought you knew
They turn their backs on you
And all you see is the cold dark shadow they leave behind
No reminisces of love, hope, or sorrow
For you, who is trying to survive.

Regretting the life you once lived
You cry alone in the rain
Hiding your tears from your soul
You fear and tremble
From the life you had before

You weep deep down inside
Behind the smiles and laughter
Is a demon anxious to strike.
You cling on what you what to believe,
Wanting to go back
To change your future,
Desperate for any sources of light.

The mirror shows the other side
The one you've tried to hide
But your hands were made for another
Vowing your life for a stranger
To keep them alive
As you grow older
Until you die.

You portray so much pain in every word you write. Isnt there a single ray of light in that darkness of yours?

    Excellent poem. Loved it.
