Dead Tree

by EmptyEyes   Jan 11, 2006

You can seek refuge under me.
I'll be your tree.
But today, you did not come
And I stand here waiting.
I'll stay till all my leaves fall,
Till the winds stop to blow,
Till the roots can't hold me anymore.

The secrets we shared, we'll soon forget,
And you told me you loved me each day,
But why did you go?
I still stand here as my life withers away.

One day too late,
I found out I don't exist anymore.
Consumed by time,
Surrounded by regret.
I could've spoken the words,
But this is me,
Though i still hate to believe...
