Men in My Life: Part 2

These men in my life put me through hell,
They got me in a trance, in a horrible spell.
They hurt me badly, and scarred me more.
They smashed the smile I always wore.

Second, my step dad the one to replace...
The one who tried to fill that empty space.
Nice try "Daddy", but you just won't do,
At first you were great, at first I loved you.

But then came the overreacting and screaming,
The crazy face smiles and eyes gleaming,
There was never a day where you didn't find something wrong,
I guess it was me that was wrong all along.

You just can't except me for who I am,
Aren't you a nice addition to our perfect "fam".
Then one day my image of you was totally different...
The day I realized the damage might be permanent...

When you had your stroke and went into a coma,
I wondered if you'd ever see me get my diploma.
I realized even though you were there to replace,
Maybe you could fill that empty space.

So I prayed and I prayed, night after night,
Hoping God would make everything right.
Hoping my Daddy would come out okay,
Hoping my replacement would always stay.
