First Love

by Melissa S. Masucci   Jan 22, 2006

I wrote your name
one hundred times
carefully written
in four straight lines
I surrounded it all
in a shower of hearts
and noted the care I took
in drawing each one
I decorated it more
with confetti and lace
remembering when the smile
first came to my face
I folded it up in an envelope
sealed with a kiss
and I'll never forget
how it felt when I first realized
I love you.

This is a nice poem that you can make stand out by breaking it up into qualified stanzas and using proper punctuation.

I like the detail you put into your feelings here. The air of intricacy is very impressive. Most men (including myself) forget the little things except when they're the ones doing them so it's a good reminder for us to stay on our toes!
