How Frustration Feels

by Melissa S. Masucci   Feb 7, 2007

I no longer try to understand
what motivates your direction,
or why you think the thoughts you do
inside that rude and hollow mind.

No longer will I try to believe
that you simply misunderstand.
I thought you needed explanation,
I know now that you just don't care.

No more will I allow myself
to become upset by your words...
why let them get below my skin
when you don't listen to any of mine?
Or anyone else's, for that matter.

I can sit idly by no more between
you two and not choose a side.
The choice falls to the other,
the only real friend I've had in years.

I no longer care to talk to you
I don't care to understand...
your motives are your own, and biased
and if I don't agree with you
then my opinion doesn't matter, anyway.

Indifference is something a real human would want to avoid.
