A Heart Unheard

by myshiningstar14   Jan 22, 2006

My heart
unheard, my intentions
slurred. My emotions
rise with all these lies.
A crushed heart,
burning words, still a
heart is unheard.
Numbing thoughts,
and constant abuse.

Why must my
heart break? Why
must my soul hurt?
Why must listen to
the sound of her
voice, when it only
denies who I really
am? Why must I
let her define me?

Flowing tears,
cheeks so red. Oh
how I try to portray
a godly image, but
she doesn't see that;
she sees a girl with
no self-control, that's
out to make love with
her son!

Why must this
be the pattern of my
life? Why must she
make me less than
what I am?

Pain unbearable,
her judgmental voice
resounding in my head.
Still my heart is unheard.
And with my hands and
face against the mirror,
my soul skips a beat. My
body falls and curls up in
a stream less end of
unheard tears.

My heart
unheard, my pain
uncured. My life
poisoned by the
deepness of her
words. My heart
aligned with
bruises and
stitches of all
these years.

What gives
her the right to judge
me the way she did?
Who is she to say who
I am?

I love that line right there...great poem, definitely a 5/5, even if it was written about such a bad event...

I'm 13, and started writing a few weeks ago...I'm not sure what i want to be when i grow up, but something along the lines of psychologist, writer, or pyrotechnices (FIRE!!!) expert would be cool...and you write so much better than I do. keep up the good work
