Daddy

Daddy, don't lie,
daddy, say you're fine.
Daddy, you know your lungs are filling,
filling with tar.
Soon that is going to be all they wrote,
how do you expect my hear to mend?
You're the only one that understands,
you always give me strength.
Daddy, I know you get violent when you don't have a cigarette.
I am already regretting moving back with mom for those four years.
Daddy, I know you yell when you don't have a cigarette,
but do you know I am scared?
That metal valve might give out.
Have you seen me stare out the window for hours wondering what to do?
Daddy, I wake up in the middle of the night when you sleep next to me,
just to make sure you are still breathing.
I stay up all night just to make sure you are alive.
I turn off my my music,
just to hear the ticking from the valve.
Now, Daddy are going to smoking or died for a cigarette?
