The road less traveled

by Tim Bradshaw   Jan 26, 2006

The road to where I want to go,
Seems as if it's always shut.
I try so hard to take the path,
It pushes me back no ifs or buts.

My life is over yet not started,
Not a single moment have I captured.
My early have not been exciting,
Nor filled with joy, happiness, or laughter.

As my life seemed it couldn't get better,
A miracle decided my life it would enlighten.
So quickly with no time to prepare,
With a baby in my life it starts to brighten.

my son came along boy it was great,
I think my life has turned around.
My girl started to become a liar,
And smashed my heart into the ground.

I'm trying to pick my life back up,
Gluing the pieces one by one.
The only thing thats holding me back,
Is that I've yet to get my son.

Once he's back where he belongs,
I don't care what decides to happen.
My son by my side everyday,
Is enough to bring my life satisfaction.

A father's love for his son...It doesn't get much better than that. This is beautiful. The simple beauty and honesty of your words fills me with an emotion I can't describe.

I know that this isn't a very good poem but I found it in my old poetry book that I wrote when I was like 16 and decided to share.
