The Watcher

by Bill Turner   Jan 28, 2006

Naked are we all under the watchful eye
Soul stripped bare for the world to see
We hide behind our masks and clothes
Hoping that no one gets to close to the heart
Trudging off to work, school or wherever doing our part

As we scurry through our lives at a hectic pace
We often lose sight of why we are running this race
We forget those around us in our life
The ones that truly matter and care
We zip on by with flair

Ever the watchful eye sees what we do
Even at night when the day is through
Unable to rid ourselves of the dreaded eye
Alcohol and pills do not blur its focus
Attempting to avoid it with hocus pocus

Our soul knows what is right
Watching over us day and night
Do not ignore what you see
It is never too late to change your life
Step up, fix your heart and ease others strife

People count on you each and every day
Waiting to see if you will lead the way
Give everyone a piece of your heart
Reach out and touch someone's soul
That simple action will help make you whole
