In the heat of the moment

by Jacob Perry   Jan 29, 2006

In the heat of the moment
all is blurred and imperfect
the stolen knife shining red
the mind and soul so far past dead

the birds fly up around me
as I'm thrown to the ground
looking up i scream "BUT WHY?"
expecting the impossible reply

shattered mind sharp like glass
bites in the flesh sting again
while bolts of lightning strike my head
crying the last tears i fade past dead

war and death screams and cries
in a realm where no one dies
fires roar as blood doth pour
lost, people merely cry "Wherefore, Wherefore, Wherefore?!?!"
