I, Me, Mine, My

by Ruthie   Feb 3, 2006

I, Me, Mine, My
Every thing's about self
It seems we've forgotten
how to say you or yours

So caught up
In ourselves
nothing matters but
I, Me, Mine, My

I Me Mine My
Where's the gentleman's touch
The giddy feeling of love
thats hogs wash
we're all equals now
don't treat me like I'm below you

Where's the secret
of a womens heart
Where's the adventurous male
that risks his life for love

Love's gone out the window
My role is to be independent
Not a treasure to hold dear

Love's gone out the window
His role to be scared of me
To be squashed by my demands

I Me Mine My
I need I want
wait on me
listen to me
be me

I Me Mine My
the cry of a lost world
so intent on being individual
they've lost their identity

I Me Mine My
Where's the old values
the old way of life
The man needs his fun
The women her peace and quiet

Each was the other's equal
Each had an equal role
Now it's just
I Me Mine My

This is interesting and different. The repetition of the main idea works really well. I like how you've descibed the selfishness of todays times in a different way, it is new and refreshing. Very good piece :)

Yes that is true. I really like your poems. They have so much meaning and I DONT HAVE TO THINK!!! Such a plus. I hate it when I have to think really hard about a meaning of a poem, I get the wrong message and write the wrong type of comment. Anyways. nice poem ..5/5 keep up the good work.

I enjoy reading your poems. Stop writing, and someone will kill you. It might not be me, but someone will kill you. Haha.
