I wonder if you know...

by Melissa   Feb 12, 2006

Did you know,
that there was no moon tonight?
People of all sizes
were passing cafes on the street
and my tongue layed bitten
as everyone else kept talking.

Did you know,
that when I locked the front door,
I turned to see demons
scattered all across my living room floor?
They smirked in my hesitation
and laughed at my expression
as my hands forgot what they are even used for.

Did you know,
that as I turned the lights out for sleep
this inner light guided me
to an ever haunting dream of you?
Shades of black and white kissed me
as the night before me slipped,
morning light awakened me
with the simple satisfaction
of making it through,
yet another moonless night.
