Chaos

by butterfly ♥ kisses   Mar 3, 2006

What is average or even normal?
Explain to me your idea of perfection.
Does beauty fit into a specific mold?
How do we cure this spreading infection?

Our country's skeleton has been exposed,
But without a single hair out of place.
Hearts are strewn across bathroom floors,
Casualties of the battle against their weight.

Young girls are choking on the chaos
Of a media in size 2 jeans.
Cameras flashing, the truth already lost.
Fallen idols decorate the screen.

What if we stopped analyzing
And took a moment to step back?
The results would be surprising
When we're without the security of our masks.

In a world based on perceptions
And one meal away from prosecution,
We need to stop the deceptions
Because our confidence isn't all we're losing.
