Broken

by Cuddles   Mar 10, 2006

There's a hole in her heart
where his picture used to be.
Her face used to have a lovely glow,
and she was once so very sweet.

Now she's embittered by her hatred.
She's numb to all the pain.
Only shadows cross her path.
Her tears pour forth like rain.

Her eyes no longer shine.
Darkness consumes her soul.
She is now like shattered glass,
broken pieces that can't be made whole.

He took with him all that was good in her.
Sadly, loving him had had its price.
In her mirror she sees the girl she used to be,
wishing she'd known who she was letting into her life.
