In Fact, In Prayer

by Ed or Ian Henderson   Mar 11, 2006

There's an essence to sobriety that sells it short
Like the alternative harks of any worthy port
In a storm
Drunkenness is a weary and tiring old dame
Changing the rules and affecting the game.
But she's warm.

Don't separate the morality of getting stoned
When the worst of our drugs are condoned.
In this nation.
But don't assume all is always at ease.
Unless, Lord, you'll donate me please,
A plantation.

5th line down in profile needs to be revised* (spelling)

sorry I dont really find this particular poem appealing. One of the reasons being how you have what seems to be random sentances out of the blue that dont seem to make sence. Or maybe it is my youth that defies me. But ignorence I cannot help.

This is good. This is funny. This does indeed a poetic description of a whole train of thought I myself have experienced......Bravo.
