If Only

If only I could have met you sooner?
If only life came with a set of instructions?
If only dreams could come true?
If only life wasn't so much trial and error?
If only I was born earlier or later?
If only I didn't have to learn from my mistakes?
If only I could change things about my past?
So many times I have heard if only
I knew then what I know now?
But what would it matter
because I wasn't meant to know it till now.
