My Enigma

by David Marshall   Mar 15, 2006

You put me through pain,
You made my heart sick.
You never cared for me,
always so egocentric.

I wanted to love you,
but sorrows my fate.
You pushed me away,
my heart you decimate.

You convoluted my soul,
my heart you mar.
This pain of mine,
has gone too far.

So as i prepare and convene my death,
The end of my life I embark.
No reason to hide this scar.
No reason to hide this mark.

No longer a dilemma,
whether to live or die.
You didn't care anyway,
so you probably wont cry.

Your my Enigma,
but I had to try.
I'm so foolish,
Now I say goodbye.

Oops, did I get it right? You talk about death and the
End of your life just because somebody has put you
Through pain. if everyone thought like this then nobody
Would be alive today. Even that person you wrote your
Poem about. At these moments, you should just stay
Strong, a thing that not many people can do. But then
again, they’ll be some useless words if you want to
act like others. So, as you see, it all depends on yourself.
In the second stanza, you wrote “I wanted to love you”.
Well, nothing & no one can stop you from loving someone.
You’re on your own and your heart is yours not others.
When you love someone, it doesn’t mean that that person
Must love you back. If it was like this, then it’s no big deal.
I mean, they love you and you love them. But when you
Love someone who puts you through pain, who ignores
You,…. I don’t mean just one person. In my opinion,
We should love everyone, our friends, and more important
    Than that, our enemies.
And Love doesn’t need anything back in return. Does it?
    Love is free.
    Lots of love,
    Marjan
