As i stand here still

by Jon Hunt   Mar 19, 2006

I lose track of time as I stand here still.
My mind is plagued and thoughts can't rest.
I need a break, to leave this head.
To see clear and be what's best,
But I lack the clarity to see what is.
What I want to see is not reality.
What I want to feel, neither sense nor emotion.
My path is set yet I fear this fate,
But I cannot stand, for this too late.
Mind over matter, yet matter rests blame,
For mind over mind no clear side to win.
And with it takes the spoils of war,
Of conflict won and peace preserved.
Yet persevered in peace and love,
To win the war and mind returned.
To reunite the sides of heart,
To rejuvenate what once was lost,
And find again that golden charm.
Hold on tight don't let it slip,
Grip to life for all you've got.
So precious so pure, you spread your wings,
Fly and soar an angel of light.
I see this angel in resplendent glory,
And find myself I'm torn here standing still.
So leave this angel up here flying,
Turn and find myself another story.

I find traces of hope interspersed in your writings. Nice job.
