DaDdY...help me understand.

Mommy sat me down really late tonight.
She had tears on her face,
in her eyes, she had fright.
She gripped my hand for an embrace.

I shook as I wondered with questions.
She stumbled on her words,
as for the right ones, she looked in a direction.
She couldnt spill out the news.
She just wasnt making since.
Her throat wouldnt let her mouth say something,
to talk, she had to refuse.

She looked into my eyes of hazel and brown.
The room was so silent.
You could hear pin drop
silently fall on the ground.
Finally...I heard her voice speak!
But what I heard...
For ever gave me knees to be weak!

"Sweet angel of mine!
Its come!
It was you Father`s time.
The hospital just called me.
He was killed in a car crash.
Into a lake, he made a plunge_ a splash.
He had no time to flee!
O sweet angle of mine,
please, forgive me
for I had to be the one to tell you.
Stay strong with your mother.
This..we can get through!"

I sat as I cried and remembered my last words to my dad.
I wish I had not taken granted
the time with him I had!
He was so sweet and so in love with his family.
But God took him away,
away from us_ away from me.
I trust the Lord will do him good,
and that for his reason of takening,
can soon be understood!!
