So Hard To Say Goodbye

Looking forward to go home
My family I will finally see
Daddy's little girl
Well yes that would be me

Half a year in Iraq
Appreciating them so so much more
My family is my all
My family O I do adore

As I step on the plane
The sand blowing in my face
Worried I'm forgetting something
Worried if I look like a mess

I sit in my seat and await the plane
The jets propel
Were on our way!

20 hours later
We arrive in the states
Los Angeles, CA
My beautiful home state

The home of my family
Its them I yearn to see
Them like myself are wishing to see me

My flight finally arrived
My daddy standing at the gate
2 dozen roses in his hand
Wow, it's a date

A heartwarming hug
I love him so much
Id been waiting for this moment
To simply feel his warm touch

We drive all the way home
A long drive indeed
I tell him my war stories
About all those crazy Iraqi's

Your daughter's a soldier
Tough as a rock
Daddy's little girl
Who would have thought?

The days went by
Time very well spent
The tears of happiness had stopped
It was time to simply vent

Than the day actually came
I honestly had no clue
There was an accident
But accident with who?

Sweetie its your daddy
O no you don't say
Yes sweetheart
No, just go away

It was his time to go
Doing what he did best
Serve his country among the very very best (police officer motorcylce)

A police officer during the day
Loving father during the night
My daddy had to go
To this poem I cry

I came back from Iraq
To celebrate with him
Hold him close
Tell him How much I love him

So I come home to say goodbye
But for forever this time
But its me telling him
Ill meet u in the next life

Daddy I write this to tell you
That I admire you so much
You always said you would go either on the bike
Or if you grew very old

I want you to know
We are going to miss you so much
We love you forever
