Sing To Me

by Cuddles   Apr 3, 2006

Sing to me of heartache,
of sorrow,
of pain
Sing the song of bluebirds,
of sunshine,
of rain

Sing a song of smiles,
of laughter,
of tears
Sing a song of abuse,
of terror,
of fears

Sing to me of wisdom,
of memories best forgotten
Sing of unrequited love,
of paths left untrodden

Sing to me of happy times,
of never ending strife
Let experience guide your words,
and sing me the song of life

This is a lovely piece, I really enjoyed the sing-songness of it and how everything seemed to flow naturally after each other. I enjoyed the format and liked how you altered the structure halfway through without losing any of the rhythm. Also the language you have used is simple and realistic and very effective. I liked the ending aswell it brings everything you've said together and closes the poem very nicely. Excellent piece :) :)
