Sorry dad (possibly the first poem I ever wrote)

Cannot work out what I did
What I did to make him mad
Never seen him so angry before,
I must have been very bad.

But what I did I do not know
He'd been drinking once more
Came in yelling
And slammed the door.

Not sure what I did
But his anger was so strong
He came into my room
Screaming about all that was wrong.

Of his boss at work
And a phone call he had got
But what I did to anger him
The event I must have forgot.

The punishment I must have deserved
When he came in tonight.
I just am not good enough
Though I try with all my might.

I am sorry father
Sorry for what I did
Sorry that I annoyed you
And sorry that from you I hid.

No matter what I do or say
I am just never what I should be
I will try harder father
To be all you want of me.

Maybe if I just stay hidden
Stay out of sight
Then I can do nothing wrong
Will no longer have to fight

I found this yesterday written in the back of a bible (strangely enough) so i've deciphered it (as the handwriting is terriable) and decided to type it up, not really sure why but it's here now anyway. I must have only been about 11 when I wrote it, and I must admit it scared me a little when I read it though. How 9 years can change your view of a person...
