Free me

by alive in death   May 3, 2006

That temper.
i know you stem the flow of your anger.
God,
it must eat you alive.

i feel the side effects.
i reap what you've sown.
you fly off with the lightest breeze...
free as a bird to any ties that may bind.

while i remain here.

stagnant,
grieving,
confused.

you expect me to produce fruit so gracefully.

be as the leaves,
crumpled and withered,
die away you demon,
you have broken me.

leave me to be free,
release me.
unclench your hands on my mind.
no you can never take back the past.

you cant erase my memories.
but you can be smothered.
so suffocate,
and feel like my body.

i think my lungs are permanently scarred.
from you,
and all the things that you've done.
be broken and crushed like me.

so i can be free
