An angels influence

An angel flew before me
And settled for a while
It showed me what I wanted
And gave me reasons to smile.

An angel flew around me
While circling my path
Supporting my every step
And teaching me to laugh.

An angel flew beside me
And gave all I could need
When I fell in love with him
I finally believed.

I believed that I could make it
I knew I would suceed
I knew with him beside me
What I wanted, I could achieve.

Then my angel hurt me
Through no fault of his own
And at first I was angry
At how far away he'd flown.

But he had built my courage
And he had made me strong
Knowing that I'd need this
To survive when he was gone.

I never thought he'd leave me
Thought this angel was just mine
But he had to spread his wings
And teach someone else to shine.

    LOVED this stanza...this is a very inspiration poem and I'm so sorry you lost your "angel", and i hope someday that he comes back to you. This poem was very well written, great work.

    A fairly typical piece, not very unique or original. Not a bad write dont get me wrong but it doesnt really stand out to me as unique or very different from alot of the other love poetry within the site. Obviously a heartfelt dedication with beautiful intent...nice work

    I love it. It's a beautiful poem, and it's so well written. I liked the rhyming and it kept my attention.
    I don't know why but I love when angels are used somehow in a poem, yours is perfect.
