You Opened Your Own Door

Your hand was still entwined in mine
Your lips still spilled your heart
Your eyes still shone into my own
But it was distant; far apart

Your talk still fired up my body
Your touch still killed me badly
Your sight still brought on all my fright
And I was in love with you boy; madly

Your fingers still soothed my pain
Your love was still my life
Your words, they still deceived my soul
And lead me into strife

Your promises still kept me there
Your lies still gave me faith
Your simplicity in everything
Was what made me sit and wait

And now the table's turning
I can't be here anymore
No, I am not walking out on you
You opened your own door

So don't rush to keep me waiting
I been through that small phase
I through with thinking every night
And flinching at your name

I know that you still want me
But there is not much more to feel
I wasted my time long enough
To know this isn't real

And though your hand's entwined in mine,
And your lips still spill your heart,
And I see your eyes still have their shine,
But it feels so distant; far apart

So now I will just take my leave
Your games I have outgrown
But if you had the guts to play
Then you can make it on your own

    Oh my God this is such a great poem. I absolutly loved it. It completely facinated me, because so much of it seemed like my own life.
    I ecpesially liked the part of:

    That is exactly how i am feeling at this time, but i wasn`t able to express it as good as you. I also love the part of

    So now I will just take my leave
    Your games I have outgrown
    But if you had the guts to play

    It was a totally great ending to this poem, and fitted it really well. Well all in all a great job. 5/5

    first of all your poem was so touching and heartfelt! lots of emotions inside..I'm into reading love poems nowadayz but sadly I'm unable to write anything!! your poem was inspiring and True..! I like the way you wrote it..makes me feel your strength ;)
