Effects Of War

by Amy   Feb 14, 2004

Blood of the innocent
stain the ground
the children begin
to weep at the sound
so much confusion
screams of dismay

Women and children
silently lay
not moving, not breathing
not one single word
explosions and screams
are the only things heard

It would make your heart break
to see such things
witness the tragedy that war brings
so much pain
and not a thing can be done
for in all wars
neither side has won

All they've created
is death, pain and fear
innocent punished
all they can do
is shed tears

So i hope this poem
opens your eyes
nobody wins
when the innocent die.
