Deal With Death

by Amy   Feb 15, 2004

Your life was so precious
innocent and true
until the dark day came
he took it from you

Claimed your innocence
like a raven of death
took it away
took your last breath

As death gripped its hand
upon your throat
your mind flashed back
to those words you wrote

"Death is the answer
it is the key
Death, i wish
to be claimed by thee"

You wrote them with blood
and prayed the next day
that this excuse for a life
would be taken away

You regretted those words
you had just had a bad day
you didn't think
death would hear what you say

Its too late for that
his eyes seemed to say
you dug your grave
now in it you will lay

His grip began to tighten
and you knew what lay ahead
knew in a few moments
that you would be dead

A serious thing
is a deal with death
you cant take it back
you breath your last breath

For he doesn't care
if you change your mind
he'll take your soul
and leave nothing behind

So next time think
who you direct your words to
for the next time
he might be coming for you.
