Another Perspective

Dysfunctional life support
Tied up with string
We cover our faces
So the truth doesn't sting

A hybrid of problems
Born out of our lies
They'll show you who god is
Child, cover your eyes

"Your dreams are for sinners"
Said with hands on their hips
Oh, those Sunday school preachers
With their plastic pink lips

Salvation is yours child!
Just repent all your sins
Like "eating that candy"
And "not singing your hymns"

The book you call Holy
Is not without fault
And if it weren't so widespread
You'd say it a cult

For those who believe,
Don't take it to heart
But without your false god
Then you'd all fall apart

Interesting. I really liked the flow, and how the rhyme made it come along smoothly. Some of those stanzas really speaked for their own and sent a great message. I really liked the last stanza, too, because it brought the whole poem to a conclusion. The meaning was great.
