Road of Promise , Path of Darkness

Road to the unknown
our lives full of misconception
many paths forking off
reeking of deception

with every journey is a choice
one that only we can make
the road true and hard
or the easy path to take

the road with twisting curves
stones of disaster will make us fall
our faith carrying us through
protected gates of heaven's wall

the path of imitation happiness
selling your soul to walk this line
simplified way out of adversity
a fake representation of divine

many will slip and fall from the road
taking the path, losing their direction
only to find the road again, repentant
forgiven, no one holds perfection

our death marks the end of our journey
a travel our ancestors made as well
to walk the road to the promised land
or walk the path to the darkness of hell

    Truthful write... A very deep message in this one. As Meena says there are moments we have to make the decision to what path we take. No matter what though, God shall be there. Enjoyable poetry :)
