Seeing Red

by Avellana   May 28, 2006

With a choke hold I'd been suspended
With barbed wire I'd been abused
Abandoned then brought teasingly back
This friendship had gone past cruel

I know my jugular has been pricked
I feel the blood as it starts to drip
Still I fight against my suppresors
A gurgled laugh as their grip slips

My throat rips as I tear free
My wrists are left in shreds
My arms are broken, legs are worse
I know I'll be left for dead

As I stumble the feet to freedom
And collapse on the dusty floor
I roll over and look into the eyes
Of the people I used to adore

I scream as my back arches
Withdrawl is always worse next time
As broken ribs rip into lungs
I'm left gasping as my body dies

I cough up blood and worse things
And know there's no use for tears
Because thats it, this time it's done
There's not even room for fear

As agony courses through me
And I drown in my own blood
My burden is lifted as I'm no longer fighting
Against their Jury... and their Judge.

Just to say Thanks to Ruby, she helped me with my last poem and i din't give her due Thanks!

Reading with fresh-peeled eyes and mouth slightly open in hopes to grasp the deeply concealed message within words. splendid words often attend your poems. Indeed this was quite atrocious in the grandest of ways. liked it. loved it. cheers.
