Hanging To Escape

by manic moments   May 29, 2006

Rope around the throat
Hands tied behind her back
Pushed off the hanging ledge
She hangs till her eyes are black

Sways in the wind
Her body left for the light
She hangs ever more
She swings on in a last spite

Neck is broken
Lips are dried
Skin is parched
You can tell she has died

The carnivores gather
Her body is battered
They're hungry stares
Her bones are shattered

Paper is flying
In the city of trees
Words that are faded
No one knows what they see

Her hair is flying
Long dried from the sun
Her eyes have been stolen
Oh how death is fun

Her blood is dried in her vein
No longer will the colour come
Cut into her flesh to find a drop
Not drop will happen, not one

She will no longer shriek with pain
She will no longer react to the harm
How lucky she is
That her anger is finally calm

I wish to be that hanging body
Swaying up there with the air
To feel no more pain
How everyone would start to care

My blood would no longer spill
So they wont see what they do
They will give up the hurting
All this pain that mustn't be true

They would put the noose at my neck
They would push my off the edge
They would make sure I'm dead
Make sure I fell off the world's ledge

They would watch me squirm in desperation
They would laugh at what they see
They would watch me die so slowly
All this that will happen to me

I wont be able to feel the pain anymore
I wont be able to feel the heartbreaking fall
I will be free from the pain
I wont hear his call

I'll die just to get away
I'll die just not to feel the pain
I'll die in attempt to be free
I'll die just to leave the shame

She was the lucky one
She disobeyed her keeper
She was the lucky one
She is now the forever sleeper

My idol, my hero
To escape his rule
I will follow her onto the hanging rope
She is my optimistic fuel

I broke the rules
And now here I stand at the hangman
He puts it around my throat
This will be the last time I stand

Pushed off the ledge
Pushed in to the moving air
Hands are behind my back
Finally someone will care
