Gone

by Samantha Compton   May 30, 2006

They suffer, die,
Kill, and steal,
Never knowing
The fate that they've sealed.

Taking for granted
Everything that they have,
Distrusted by all,
They stray from their paths.

Missing layers of their souls
Destroyed by all these acts,
People so broken up
That they'll never gain it back.

Troubled minds
To sin belong,
It entices them
With poisonous song.

They all turn their backs,
Move forward in trance,
Toward that which corrupts them
With no backward glance.

They must withstand,
And seek the dawn,
For if day never comes,
They will always be gone.
