Unfriendly encounter

by Melissa   Jun 1, 2006

All the cynics light up their cigarettes
and blow smoke at my half eaten heart,
I stupidly laugh at their ugliness
as misery undresses herself in blame,
unaware my own two hands were funny to sin...

Eyes shaped like haunted willow trees
blow haphazardly in the forgotten wind,
cruelty drools off those pathetic tongues
as kindness sticks between pearly white teeth
and I'd love to call those scamps names,
but only fools call fools fools
so maybe I'll just write about their disgrace...

I read and re-read this poem a few times . The wording was so amazing it leaves me speach-less .
I can't even pick out a favorite part because the whole poem is that dang great .

Very impressive... I enjoyed your words from start to finish. You have written some wonderful metaphors which. I found this one quite inspirational. Pen and paper at the ready :P
