If Only

by Lauren Waszkiewicz   Jun 1, 2006

Outside she's smiling,
Joyful and warm.
Inside she's screaming,
Dejected and torn.

She's freezing cold,
She's on her own,
No one to help her,
She's all alone.

Inside she's dying,
Her world's falling apart.
Outside she's lying,
Fabricating from the start.

No one to stand beside her,
Seems like no one was there,
Feeling so helpless,
Nobody ever cared.

If only someone,
Verified her lies.
If only someone,
Looked into her faded eyes.

If only someone,
Looked behind her sullen mask.
If only someone,
Had the decency to ask.
