Ice

by Genevieve   Jun 3, 2006

Tears like ice,
Escape from the depths of my soul,
They freeze on my cheeks,
In an effort,
To melt my heart.
For years it has been frozen,
To protect myself from pain.
And still the cold tears fall,
And freeze,
Then wisp away,
To leave behind a bite of frost,
To remind me of what pain I felt,
To circumvent the trepidation,
Yet again.
