We dont learn form our mistakes, we make them again

One phone call
Changed her day
Her voice shaking as she responded with an OK
She threw on her coat
Looked at herself in the mirror
Made her reflection promise not to let him near her
She close the door behind her
Stepped out into the cold
This routine was beginning to get old
Walked to his house
He opened the door
He wanted everything, she wanted to even the score
His sober face
Gets her out from the cold
He would do anything to get her out of her clothes
He stares at her briefly
And slightly grins
Waves his hand, motions her in
He makes a joke
Gets her to smile
Their conversation goes on for a while
He pours her a shot
She takes ten
Hoping she wont do anything stupid again
He watches as she slips under
Slightly smiles as she takes another
She tries to walk
She can hardly stand
He helps her walk, he takes her hand
Her words slurred
Eyes fighting sleep
Fighting hard, consciousness she tries to keep
A little later
They get used to the room
They both go slow, begin to make a move
He moves in close
He looks at her eyes
He kisses her gently, keeping track of time
No words are spoken
Nothing needs to be said
They both knew they'd be mistaken again
Her tongue full of alcohol
His of spite
Makes this another painful night
He holds her close
Her world becomes Grey
She will fall for every empty word he will say.
