Sweet connection

by Melissa   Jun 8, 2006

Are you making passes
while I'm reciting my heart's passages,
is my diary really getting through to you
or are you just attracted
to the girl in the fish bowl?

Did I see you grin at me,
and was that shyness on your teeth,
are you trying to seduce my rhymes
before tasting the moral of the lines
or am I singing all of your philosophies?

Well, I'm captivated by your infatuation,
but you can't keep playing these silly games
while I'm undressing my soul for free,
this paper tongue has something to say
and trembling thighs just won't participate.

So please stop ogling my lips
and don't tease me with those hypnotic eyes
your boyish charms are distracting me
and I feel a little weak in the knees
by the guy whose been flirting with my words.
