A hand to hold

by Kaylee   Jun 19, 2006

These words are imprinted,
I shake them from my mind,
Still not sure if I should speak,
The phantoms of my night,

I have two eyes yet I am blind,
To a promise unfulfilled,
With me are my own hands,
Not yet cleansed of filth,

Two legs with which I stand,
Cannot travel to my past,
These lips with which I talk,
Will not confess your sins,

I do not know the reasons,
Of why this had to be,
Nor how you had known,
How to haunt my dreams,

I have two eyes yet I am blind,
To a promise unfulfilled,
Let me speak this ache,
And have a hand to hold.

This was a great poem! You write truly good poetry, with the imagery, metaphors, symbolism, flowing rhyme schemes...everything is perfect about the way you write, and I am in no fairly higher position than you to criticise any of it. 5/5 xxx
