Weaving Lies in the Midst of Justice

by AllHailTheHeartbreaker   Jun 23, 2006

You've fabricated all of this
the hatred, the looks in all their eyes
Fighting like you used to mean it
disguised as were all your other dreadful lies.

Curses in paragraphs, locked in a sentence
spoken in words I cannot recognize
You pull away from me so slowly
like I wanted to forget all those other nights.

In the darkness when you speak
it's like the words aren't real
Close my eyes so I can just lose it
pretending you know exactly how I feel.

Even as you promise yourself it's okay
I tell you that this isn't right
You still taste bittersweet on my tongue
I know this isn't right, it's not right...

So come on now and let's forget again
kiss me like you used to mean it
We'll act like nothing's going on
and you can roll back to me.

Slowly everything makes sense
now can't you just leave me alone
It's easy for you to take over me
when I want so badly to be on my own.

(Decipher what you want to from this poem. I know what it means to me and that's all that matters.)

I won't pretend to know what this means or say that I can relate as it's something more personal for yourself. I will say that while more sad poems tend ot be repetitive, I found this one an enjoyable read. You might want to retake a look at this:

Even as you promise yourself it's okay
I tell you that this isn't right
You still taste bittersweet on my tongue
I know this isn't right, it's not right...

You have the word right more than you should in this stanza. But at the same time it feels more like the speaker is reassuring themself.

Wow.. there was so much emotion put into this. I'm not really sure what it means to you, but I think its about someone who you have a lot of feelings for keeps leaving you then wanting to comeback into your life, but you dont want them to. Great job!

Good poem, I really like it, its like this feeling of someone who has done so much to hurt you and you want them to just disappear from your life but at the same time you wish things could be the way they used to be...it's an awesome write, keep going
