Candle

by january friend   Jun 26, 2006

I'd give you a candle, a light
A light to shine with all your might
A light to press out the darkness
A light so I can hold you close, for one last kiss
As light from that candle flickers upon the walls
And from the window I can still see that one lone wolf
Form where he softly calls
He is beautiful standing there in the moonlight
And the moon shines down on this starry night
Do not let this candle go out
But sometimes, fate has a mind of its own, never doubt.
I want you to be free
Like an eagle soaring high for all to see
And as the light flickers across your face
I realize that our love is strong, something you cannot trace
So I'd give you a candle, a light
A light to shine with all your might
A light to press out the darkness
A light so I can hold you close, for one last kiss
