Childhood

by january friend   Jun 26, 2006

The wind and the snow
And cold stormy sky
With Erin and Zach near
The fire to stay dry

A big cozy chair
And a bowl of sweet grapes
Erin and Grandma are
Snugly seat mates

O Erin is busy
There is so much to do
Lunch to prepare
And dishes to wash too

Big black boots are
Splashy for water and mud
The some is fast fading
And the leaves are in bud

The sun is so bright
On a tip toey day
Then three black crows
Frighten Erin away

What is this high flier?
With springs in his toes
He leaps higher
His arms stretched wide
He swings through the air
Bright eyed zoom away wingery
It is happily spring a lee Zachary

For fun is the sun and
Warm sweet smelling air
I'm glad to be out an a
Day that is so fair

Where could it be Erin Rose?
Where could it be?
I stuck in on the wall
I put it on the ball
I put it underneath the book that lay in the hall
I stuck it under the chair
I threw it to the ceiling and now it is clinging there
NO! I put it in a hole
And forked it out whole
So that ends the story of
The blue blob bole

About a winsome toy
Tiny fingers fold
My melting Grandmas heart
Little hands sweetly hold
From neath sort brown curls
Shiny eyes peer at me
'Now please, choose me'
A wee tender smile pleas
Let me hold you close
Little brother, come to me
Childhoods joys are just ahead
Rest angst me small one, see
