Bleeding prayer

by arunima gautam   Jul 3, 2006

I cry as I pray- the eternity must be watching me,
We no more sing the songs in the rain; it's colder than it ever felt,
I looked back; nothing was there that ever was, everything sunk without a trace!
I remember your smile, those promises to have you beyond forever,
Feel like deceived, never thought you will extinct yourself to return never.

The universe is silent, as is the god who blessed me with you,
There's an awkward lull, dunno what is it there that I need to know.
The dusk is darker than it ever looked it to be,
The days are with no meaning like they hold a story I once knew so very deeply.

I tell no promises, I don't tell lies; I don't know if it's the end, let's keep it that way,
The slate is wiped all clean, feels like a new sun is ready to rise on my horizon,
All new faces, new stories, even more new chapters to read,
Amidst everything that is so abundantly aplenty, somewhere I've lost my beginning!

Just some way back you came and whisked my mystery with your splendor,
I so very blindingly knew it will remain as this forever,
And as I say my bleeding prayer, you are splashed with smiles,
Never to know I am burying the only road that brought us together!

I'm woefully silent, why am I so I don't know,
Maybe it's a sign, a test I need to go through,
Amidst all this there's only one thing that I know,
That I'm nothing without you, everything is already reckoned as what it is,
Nothing will change no matter what this life might bring!
